Simon is a highly professional RICS certified QS with over 18 years’ experience within the construction industry.
Simon is equally adept at pre and post contract commercial management and has the ability to liaise with clients at the highest level. He is used to working on projects with specified delivery outputs and enjoys being a lead member of a collaborated project team. Simon has a strong knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, and is a strong advocate of the disciplines that it demands, such as timely agreement of change and programme control.
Simon works at his best within teams and is a true team player. He has the ability to motivate teams through his energetic and pro-active approach. He possesses excellent communication skills and is extremely committed to successful project delivery. Over the last five years Simon has managed a commercial team responsible for £25m per annum.
More recently Simon has taken on increased responsibility within the project teams he has been involved with, and has the confidence to raise the importance of in depth programming and risk management to the very forefront of project management. He is familiar with working on live construction sites, where operations are sensitive and must not be disturbed. A number of clients that Simon has worked for have legal undertakings to deliver to their respective regulator. This includes South East Water who are required to demonstrate successful solutions to the Drinking Water Inspectorate within set time frames and Simon has enjoyed contributing to these high profile projects.
A passionate supporter of youth hockey, Simon is the U10 hockey coach at Ashford Hockey Club, and is very proud of his achievements with the junior teams.
